Natural Exfoliant Facial Scrub for Brighter, Clear Skin

If you would like brighter, clearer complexion, it's important to add exfoliation of your skin as part of your weekly routine.   Some may prefer microdermabrasion or peels, but there are gentle and effective facial exfoliating scrubs that work as well, if not better.  In this article, learn why it's important to use an exfoliating scrub and how to use it.

Importance of Using Exfoliating Scrub
Dead skin cells accumulating on your skin makes your complexion appear dull and unhealthy.  As we age, new cells are not replacing old cells quite as frequently.  As cell turnover slows down, and dead cells build up on the top layers of skin, moisturizers cannot adequately penetrate the skin, but sit on top without doing any good.

You can get whole body exfoliation done professionally, but depending on the spa, these can be expensive.  A home exfoliating scrub with a high quality natural exfoliant for sensitive skin, is not only cost effective, but can easily be added to your weekly skin maintenance routine.

A clean washcloth, soft brush or exfoliating gloves are the best tools to consider for exfoliating your face and body.  If you go for a brush with a long handle, you can use it to reach your back and shoulders, which are often neglected.

1.  In the shower, start with your feet and massage the scrub into your skin in a circular motion.  Work your way up the whole body.  For your face, use your hands instead of a brush or scrub glove, which may be too abrasive.  Remember to massage into your shoulders and back as well, which may be easier using a brush with a long handle.

2. Rinse off well with water.

3.  Pat dry and either follow with moisturizer or a kaolin clay mask.  A kaolin clay, dead sea mud facial mask adds needed nutrients to your skin for a youthful, healthy complexion.
